We had perfect weather for our annual employee appreciation party this year. Held in late May – the unpredictable springtime season – and with rain the previous day, we didn’t know what the day would bring. We prefer to have the picnic outdoors where we can play volleyball, have fun with squirt guns and fire up the grill.
The committee started early with the setup, raising the canopies to create some relief from the sun, setting up tables and chairs, outlining the volleyball court and putting out the games. Some folks from Housekeeping stepped in and helped too, making the job go quicker.
Rick’s Diner arrived with two large outdoor grills and enough food for 250 people. Burgers with all the toppings, grilled chicken, veggie burgers, baked beans, potato salad, fruit, salad, slaw, a veggie tray and dip, and novelty ice creams for dessert! No one went away hungry.
Health Center Administrative Assistant Patsy Hancock secured the band Hybrid South again this year. They helped us celebrate by providing a fun mix of rock, beach, country and soul music.
We played games, had a delicious meal, danced to the music and hung out with friends from other departments we don’t often get to see. It was a great day and it was a nice break. Thank you, Carolina Meadows, for appreciating your staff!
