These brave women flew 60 million miles, delivering planes, supplies and men to where they were needed. There were 1,078 WASPS (Women Air Service Pilots). 38 of them died in service. Yet when the war was over the Department of Defense classified their work for 35 years, which is why most people have never heard of these brave women.
