An Easy Check Off

It had been two years since anyone other than I—such as a dermatologist— had examined those little skin blotches. Setting procrastination aside, I called the Carolina Meadows Clinic for a referral only to find that a dermatologist comes to the campus once a month, and they could give me an appointment that very month. Since there were no traffic or parking issues, I left home four minutes before my scheduled appointment. My entire medical record was in their computer system (not necessary to spend time taking a history), so I was out the door in 25 minutes, waving goodbye to Dr. Hughes and assuring him I would take care of the three bandages he had affixed. Three minutes later I was in the Cafe celebrating the Cubs’ victory and planning next year’s trip to see the World Series!
