We’re not the only ones who think that Chapel Hill is the best place to live. The Milken Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank based in Santa Monica, California thinks so too. Chapel Hill was recently ranked ninth overall in the small metro category for “Best Cities for Successful Aging.”
The report analyzed data for 78 indicators of success including health care, housing, transportation, cultural activities and education. The indicators were weighted based on what was most important to seniors.
We ranked 7th in overall healthcare and 4th for number of doctors, nurses and orthopedic surgeons.
The report concludes that Chapel Hill is an excellent choice for overall access to healthcare, medical innovation and educational opportunities.
