Carolina Meadows residents William Delanty and Norman Fieleke are joined by several other residents of diverse political positions in a Point of View column in the October 30, 2013 issue of the Raleigh News & Observer.

The issue they address is the way that the boundaries of legislative districts are determined. Under the present system, the party that’s in the majority of the North Carolina General Assembly draws the lines. Whether the Republicans or the Democrats are in control, the lines are drawn to favor the majority party. The Carolina Meadows residents argue for a bill that would limit such undemocratic gerrymandering.
