Whoever thought retirement living would offer so many opportunities? I have no time to be bored at Carolina Meadows. Lectures and discussions, special interest groups, and exercise classes are going on all the time, but so are social events that are simply fun.
Well-chosen movies often appear on the program for Saturday evenings and Tuesday afternoons. Many talented area musicians have discovered that our auditorium is a great venue for evening and Sunday afternoon concerts. We hear music that ranges from classical to pop to folk to big band and vaudeville, and we’ve even been known to get up and dance when the spirit moves.
And the food! Always good, but when the Dining Services staff teams up with the residents’ Special Events Committee, we know from previous events such as an Oktober Fest and a Hawaiian Luau that remarkable things can happen. No need to wait for a special event, though. The monthly birthday dinners can be great food occasions. They feature an all-inclusive menu that offers a choice of entrees plus salad and an array of delicious dessert choices. It’s easy to gather up a table of eight, add a bottle or two or wine, and make it a party.
